How many TUMS is too many?

Im not sure what else to do at this point. I get horrible heartburn/indigestion ALL day long. I have been taking Tums which the doctor said is good, however I take like 10-12 a day, has anyone else had to take this many? I don't really want to take prescription medication for it, since I only have 7-8 weeks left. Does anyone have any other remedies or advice? Thanks....

I think - not positive - but the bottle says how many not to exceed. 10-12 seems like a lot to me.

I ate them daily with Emma and had a kidney stone 2 months after she was born.

Maybe try drinking milk

Ask your Dr about taking something like Pepsid AC.
I never had to take even one Tum but I remember hearing all the girls in Lamaze class saying that tums just didn't cut it anymore for them and their dr ok'd a stronger over the counter antacid.

10-12 sounds like a lot to me. My doctor told me I could take something stronger then TUMS but I don't remember what it was called. I would call your doctor and ask about it.

tums never helped me maalox max helped mt doc rec it... i only got heartburn at night..i slept with it at my bedside

I agree with asking your OB about Pepcid. I had horrid horrid heartburn with both my pregnancies, Tums did nothing. But taking the Pepcid was a miracle cure. My OB was fine with it and I used it with both pregnancies. But definitely ask yours.
