How much...

How much...

is too much to pay for favors? I'm down to planning the little things and they all seem to add up...

Originally we were going to do a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of my father and a little something else. But then I found a winery that would do a wine favor for us. I know that I can't do both bc it would be too much money (and his parents aren't really contributing to paying but definately adding to the guest list!)

What is the avg to pay for a favor? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Well, it's really a personal budget question, but also realize that every dollar spent on one thing is less in your bank account, or less to spend on something more important to make the day special. The favor only has to be a memento that reflects your personalities, or matches your theme. It does not have to be something like a 'gift' for your guests, it's a remembrance of a great party. So, I can't tell you what's too much for you, but for me, even 3 or 4 dollars a piece was too much, because I want to spend the money elsewhere. That being said, i searched all over and found 4 dollar favors for about 1.27 each on ebay!!! I think you should look around, see what you like, then try to find it for within whatever budget you have for this.

I decided that the invites, which go in the garbage no matter how beautiful they are, and the favors, which people take home when they're exhausted, drunk, and happy to have anything cute -- were the least important budget-wise. I still want both to reflect 'us' but I'm finding something inexpensive that does the trick!

Oh, and another good way to do it is to do one favor per party (couple or single) rather than per person. Couples don't need two of the favors, really.
