For your gown? I know most places usually cap them (and somehow, conveniently, in the end, that cap is always met or exceeded, right?) but I'm wondering how much I should be budgeting. How about a bustle? Is that considered part of the alterations?

Re: How much are alterations?
my alterations were included in the price unless i needed a hem (i didn't). The bustle was $65.00 and the lingerie straps (if needed) and dance strap for the train were about $10-$15 each. I got my dress at Burton's Bridals and the price (with alterations) was lower than the other places i called on the island. Hope that helps!

Re: How much are alterations?
Mine was $150.00 which includes adding a bustle, hooks, steaming out the wrinkles, shorting the length on the gown and the straps to fit my shoulder length.

mine were capped at $150, but that didn't include the bustle, which was $10/point (and my and my fancy bustle had 11 points )
if you have no cap, you can easily expect to pay more if there's a considerable amount of work to be done (hem, taking in/out, bustle, etc)/

Re: How much are alterations?
a cap means...that is the most you will pay...if it is $150...but you only needed $50...you pay $50...but if there is $400 in alterations...you only pay $150...
bustles are different though...I didn't have one so I cannot comment
my cap was $150 and I think I needed just a little bit less than that
