Bustle, hemmed, taken in a bit on the sides, and redesigned the halter part around the neck.

the cap @ the shop is $400, & I am being quoted $350 for it to be taken in slightly under the arms, & a bustle....i think i am being over charged...thoughts?

$500 at Macy's - hem, take in sides, and a french complicated bustle. the cost is RIDICULOUS.

Mine were included with the price of the dress. I just went for my final fitting and picked the dress up yesterday.

I got a little taken in on the sides to give more definition around my hips...

3pt bustle done

cups added and scalloped neckline.

And this seemstress is honestly a miracle worker, she fixed my mom's dress after she took it to 4 seemstresses that said nothing could be done b/c the dress was cut on a bias. But Leah knocked it out...

She's in Yonkers, but well worth the trip and she's reasonable. My mom and sister's alterations were $30 each.

I got mine done in Maine so it may be different. And I had my gmas dress updated. I had my dress shortened slightly. There were some tiny rips that she repaired. She added pearls and took off some of the ruffle. Took off the sleeves. Took off the 25 or so buttons on the back and recovered them and put them back on. Added some lace. Made my veil. Everything came to about $320.

ETA: the cost of mijne also included the lace, pearls, materials etc.

that sounds like a lot for what you are having done.

I have to brag also.... At Pronovias where I bought my gown they are included in the price and you pay 1/3 when you buy it, 1/3 tomorrow at my 1st fitting and 1/3 when I pick it up. And it wasn't crazy expensive.

mine too at Kleinfeld's... and they want to charge me for the added cups -- shouldn't that be included?
