my actual gown is about $2700, but with alterations ($245) and headpiece/veil ($600) it more like $3545! i still have not found shoes for it.

I thought I'd only spend between $700-$1000, but I went just over that at $1100. I didn't want to spend that much, but it happened that the one I tried on was over that. I'm just glad that it didn't go way over my limit. I probably would've gone up to $1500 though.

Mine is a little under $600, before tax, but $100 is added b/c the have to make it short for me, b/c it can't be hemmed later ( beading on the bottom, so that hollow to hem thing people have mentioned)
What kinds are you looking at? Mine is italian satin, not a long train though, some beading, but not a lot.
Most of the ones I tried on were under $100, but I didn't look at all the price tags.
Did you see anything you liked yet?

My gown was $840 total. They only charged me $25 for all alterations.

Mine gown was only $600. It was $50 extra because of the extra size.

Tourist... Just so you know they can hem a dress with bead work on the bottom. What they do with most wedding gown is hem it from the waist so that they dont touch the details on the bottom. Almost every wedding dress has somesort of details on the bottom.
If it is like a ball gown or an A line what they do is take it up and they gradually take in the sides so that everything is proportiate (sp?).
Trust me on this one my mother is a dressmaker and I have seen more mircales done with wedding gowns then I am sure you care to know.

i did not want to spend a whole lot on my dress b/c i want to put majority of the money towards the reception. the dress i've ordered was $600.00 and beautiful. i am very happy with my selection.
