I'm thinking of buying a sample and it is a size 10, but needs to be altered to around a size 4. Will this be possible? The dress is a dropped waist silhouette with several layers, including a top layer of embroidered lace. The salesperson insists that this is possible, but I have no idea... Does anyone have experience buying samples and sizing them down considerably? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Re: How much can a dress be altered?
i have never bought samples....but i think that may be a lot of alterations-or you may loose the shape and look of the dress. one of my bms asked the same question since she had a baby and is loosing weight, she was worried shes loose a lot and the dress would have to be taken in too much-loosing the shape of the dress. I would as a seamstress before you buy it-just incase

Re: How much can a dress be altered?
I have no idea-to be honest. I would call a few dress shops and find out. Your best bet is to try Phylis from Bridal Elegance-if it can be done, she can do it. I would also ask around how much $$. With that amount of altering it may be a lot.
