how much cash to bring on all-inclusive vacation?

Original post by StaceYums81

no tipping policy so we won't need money for anything really other than spa or private dinner if we want to do that - or a supervised shopping trip

do you think $500 is good or should we bring more?

We are going to Jamaica...

That depends. Are you doing excursions? Excursions can go from $50 to $200 per person.

I'll be honest, I just asked Fh about how much we brought to Jamaica, and he said Tipping is super important. They LOVE to be tipped, sadly, some (not all) expect it. We had a few, especially our transfer guy, ASK for it. But when you tip, you get hooked up more. And we got extra towels, water, treats, etc, just from tipping. Some resorts will encourage you not too, but of course you should use your disgression.

He said we brought $1000. We didn't spend all of it, but in the end I think we spent about $500/$600...

Where are you staying?

they are not allowed to accept any tips they get in trouble if they do see the poster that posted before me its the same resort I am going to...

We already booked our excursions...so we'll probably only bring about $500-700.

Ohhhh and if you do excursions, go to Rick's Cafe and Theres a bob marley tour too. We didn't have the chance to go, but def. do it if you can. Friends of mine LOVED rick's cafe.

All the excursions and activities are extra...I think you should def have a credit card as back up

It depends on where you go. At Sandals (where we most likely will go) they are already included.

I plan on brining about $300-500 but we´ll only be there 5 days so I dont think we´ll use it all.

We are going to Jamaica also from a Tuesday - Monday. I don't think we are bringing more than $500.00. We want to go to Margaritaville, but besides that we aren't going to be leaving the resort. The money is could for the spas and stuff like that. I would say you are good to go!

I think $500 will be enough. I agree with the other posters that you should bring a credit card just in case. I went to Jamaica a couple of years ago with my friends and went on The Bob Marley tour. We rode there in jeeps and got a tour of the house. It was actually a lot of fun--if you're looking for something to do. Other than that, we just stayed by the pool and didn't spend any money. Have a great time
