no tipping policy so we won't need money for anything really other than spa or private dinner if we want to do that - or a supervised shopping trip

do you think $500 is good or should we bring more?

We are going to Jamaica...

The more you bring, the more you'll spend. How much are you willing to spend? How long will you be there?

Are you planning on doing any shopping while on your HM? If so I would bring some extra money

All the excursions and activities are extra...I think you should def have a credit card as back up

$500 sounds good if you're not doing a lot of shopping and not eating out of the hotel. Otherwise, you'll probably need more in Jamaica. Or at least a cc for back up.

Our travel agent said that they're actually not allowed to accept tips at an all-inclusive. I don't plan on tipping. We're also going to an all-inclusive in Jamaica and I think we're going to bring about $1500

We went to Couples Swept Away in Negril last year and needed NO cash at all---no tips accepted means they will NOT accept any--people told us they will get in trouble if they do!

Bring cash for souvenirs--I bought two pictures off a guy on the beach.

I don't even think you'll need $500....

Perfect! This is the exact resort where we are going! Thank you

That depends. Are you doing excursions? Excursions can go from $50 to $200 per person.

I'll be honest, I just asked Fh about how much we brought to Jamaica, and he said Tipping is super important. They LOVE to be tipped, sadly, some (not all) expect it. We had a few, especially our transfer guy, ASK for it. But when you tip, you get hooked up more. And we got extra towels, water, treats, etc, just from tipping. Some resorts will encourage you not too, but of course you should use your disgression.

He said we brought $1000. We didn't spend all of it, but in the end I think we spent about $500/$600...

Where are you staying?

ETD: we never stood at Sandals or Couples. We stood at the pallidium. He's been a few times with his family. I did hear from friends that at Sandals and Couples they Do not accept tips. At all. Just a quick FYI.
