How much did everyone tip...

How much did / is everyone tipping? Specifically their Photographer, Day of Coordinator, and band???

guess it depends on how much you are spending on those vendors. some people might say $150 is enough for photog. while others would not give less than $250-300.

for me personally I'll probably give about $200 to my photog., about $100 to their asst., $150 so DJ, $100 to MC, $300 to maitre d', $200 to BA, and i'm not sure who else. lol

some might find my estimates cheap...(i am on a TIGHT budget, so i think i'm being generous)...while others might think it's too much.

Personally I would not plan to tip any vendor who is the owner of the business. Think about it - using DOC as only one example - the DOC owns her own business, and is charging you a fee to make sure you have nothing to worry about on your day. If she succeeds does she deserve a tip for doing what you paid her to do?? One of my vendors actually wrote into the contract that he does not have to receive a tip because he is the owner! That is not to say that if one hires a DJ only (no MC) and he winds up having to act like an MC to get the party started and does so, he doesn't deserve a tip, or that I wouldn't give him one. I only mean that many of us are paying to feed vendors dinner, and paying them as the owner of the business for their services, and a tip IMHO should only be given if the vendor goes above and beyond the contracted service. Now, if the vendor in question is not the owner of the business, then IMHO you tip according to the service you receive. That runs the gamut from 0% to 20% of the cost of the service.

I am planning to tip the following (provided I receive great service):

Matre'D: $450
Bridal Attendant: $100
DJ: $100
MC: $100
DOC: $100
Both photographers: $100 each
Each Limo Driver: $30
and something small for whoever delivers and sets up my flowers at WM

Typically tips are a percentage of the total charge but I just don't have that kind of money. I am using my tips as a 'thank you' for helping my day go smoothly.

Florist - $50.00
Maitre de - $300.00
Day of coordinator - $150.00
Makeup - $50.00
Hair - $50.00
Limos - $50.00 each
DJs - $75.00 each
Photographers - $75.00 each

I think that's everyone....
