How much did it cost to appraise your ring?

we did get it appraised from the person we bought the ring from, only b/c it was a friend, and he would not mess with things. He didn't charge us a penny

I did the same and got a separate one as well!

Our jeweler appraised it, but I was told by the insurance company to get it appraised from a reputable outside source who is a cerified gemologist to assure the mose accurate and highest appraisal.....so far I'm thinking Jewelry Judge is the way to go...thanks ladies.

I haven't gotten mine done yet ( ) aside from the one the jeweler gave us who we bought it from. Now, she's an amazing jeweler, but when I brought it to State Farm (they're my renter's and car insurance) they said that it wasn't detailed enough. Also, they don't give you a check for the appraisal amount, they give what they deem an equal replacement. I didn't like that idea so much as who knows if I'll agree with what they think is an equal replacement. I think I'd rather get a check for the appraisal amount so I can have the same jeweler re-craft my ring.

So, long story longer , I have to get it appraised too by someone else of course, and I think I'm going to get the policy under Jeweler's Mutual when I get it.
