How much did you (or do you plan to) tip your Maitre'D? (POLL)

Assuming everything goes well and there are no major problems, how much do you expect to tip? Just curious what is average/normal

You don't have to say who you are, but if you do reply please post how many guests you have

Edit: oops, don't mind the 'per person' next to $3

My parents tipped him between 6 and 7 hundred bucks.

Just out of curiosity when the add 'gratuity and tax' to the per head cost what does the 'gratuity' cover? I guess not the M.D? I really have no idea on tipping! obviously.

I too worked at a very well-known catering hall on LI (one that many brides here used/are using), and waiters did not see a penny of tips, unles a guest slipped you a few dollars. Once in a while when I brought drinks over to a table of drunk men I'd get a few bucks but that was it. Just FYI, for those ladies who were curious!

We gave 4pp. I didn't meet the MD till the wedding day and while I think he was great, I can't say that anything stood out. I gave the attendant more than the recommended cause she was really trying to help me when I had an issue with my bustle and was trying to help out for the longest!
