I think it depends on how many pieces you have.. it can range from 6000 to 17,000..

I am spending about $9200 for 9 pieces.

do you think price reflects the quality? I've found a band that's closer to 6 than 17k.

FH heard them at a wedding and LOVED them! I've never heard them but usually FH has AWESOME taste - he's fussier than me often. . .

No I don't think so- I think it depends on how much exposure they get-- I say 17- cause one band we called who played our friends wedding was that much-- they did her SIL's wedding 2 years prior and they were much more normal- as well as at her wedding as well..

My band is great- in my opinion.. I think average price, again, depending on amount of pieces is like 6 to 12.

Our band is $6,000 for 8 pieces. We saw them at a wedding last year and loved them!

We are paying $5500 for a ten piece band. They all rotate so there will never be a time without live music. FM if you want details. They actually have an awesome website.

$6000 for a wed. band sounds normal. They might lower the price if you take fewer members. Ours lowered the price by $400 when we go rid of their 2 dancers.
If you do decide to cut the band in size, cut the players, not the singers, since the keyboard can replace any instrument but you want variety in the actual songs.

When we were looking we saw a price range of $4800 - $6200.

Can you go see the band your FH likes at a showcase?

I know my band now goes for about 5K. That is for 9 pcs.

Some band prices are too high.

We saw bands ranging from 4800 to 6800 and ended up going with a nine-piece band for $5200.

The bands I saw were between $5k and $9k depending on the # of pieces you had....my quotes were for the max # of people in the band (either 9 or 10).

We got a great deal b/c my mother is a musician, but if we would've paid regular price I'm sure it would have been around $12k- we had 10 pieces and all of the musicians in the band are union and have GREAT resumes (not your typical wedding band- they've placed witih famous people, are recording artists, etc)

We were debating on a 10K band (4 piece in HIGH demand), but they are not your average 'wedding band'.

we went with another non-average band for 6500.

I had NYC Swing - 12 piece band. They were amazing! They were $14k

yes in a way i do JMO.. i am not a DJ person and i would prefer to have a dj rather than a specific band i saw..... they were under $5000 and i thought they were horrible. BUT that is my experience and there were people that also like this band so maybe not
i dont necessarily think you need a 10K band to sbe outstanding but for a band i think there is a range BUT then again you may find an expensive band and think they are not so great
it depends on your taste

we paid 6200 for a 10 peice band that is playing for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and wedding. We got a better price simply because they were introducing a new member when we were signing so they 'gave' us one more for nothing!
