i just got a quote from a band that i thought was pretty high (10,200 dollars). they're more of a 'band' and less of a 'wedding band' so i did expect it to be highER, but not that high. what kinds of quotes have you guys been getting, or how much did you pay?

At the retail chain stores, I was quoted close to what you were quoted

Sorry about that! Bands tend to cost about $1000 per person so 7 piece band is 7K give or take.

we paid about 4k for an 8pc band... their not a 'wedding' band but their really good! all our guests love them!

I also went with a non-wedding band... and they only charged $4500 plus $500 including travel. $10,200 is way too high... sorry! LMK if you want me to give you the info for my band.. they are playing at the Nutty in Farmingdale on the 22nd!

The bands I looked at and loved ranged from 8k-15k....but in my opinion, you pay for the quality of the band and ESPECIALLY the singers. Both FH and myself have been musicians most of our lives and it killed me to hear some bands at showcases and CRINGE when they were out of tune, which is why we actually decided to go with a DJ bc I was afraid if the band or singers had a 'bad night' or an 'off night' I would spend most of my reception cringing on the dance floor- we are adding in live music at points (organ and trumpets at church, piano player at CH< jazz trio at dinner) but sticking with the DJ music for dancing.

im obsessed with my band and only looked at two so i am biased. but they are pricey---- $1k per band member plus a little more for ceremony and cocktail hour. I think total about $12k?
