I thought that I was going to have a pay at least $1500, but when I started shopping I realized that there were a TON of options under $1000. If you stay away from high-end stores then you probably won't even see a $3000 dress.

My dress was about $1300 but b/c i brought it at a trunk show, I saved 15% or so which brought the price down to $1100, not including alterations.

My mother spent A LOT on my gown. Don't really wanna disclose the figures. But let's just say it was THE GOWN and I'm REALLY grateful that she was willing to pay for it because if she didn't offer I would not be getting it!

my dress at all stores goes for over 1k........but i found it online for 690....So Phyllis matched it for me!

High end stores would be Kleinfeld and Bridal Reflections. I went to Paradise Bridal and Fantasia Bridal and all of their dresses were relatively inexpensive.
Another tip. After you decide on the dress that you like go to netbride.com and get a quote. They are almost alway cheaper. Even if you don't want to order your dress online, you can use it as a bargaining tool with the bridal shop.
I'm ordering my BM dresses off of netbride. When I asked Fantasia if they could match the price they told me that they would give me 20% off the dresses instead of 10%.

I originally had planned to spend under 3K and ended up spending closer to 4K...I'm very grateful to my parents for being so generous

i'm proud to say i was able to resist going to Kleinfeld.
Paid just $320 for my gown which is gorgeous with lotsa detail and great tailoring, you can see it in my photo album. :D

My dress was almost $1000 in the stores, but I went to Phyllis from Gownfind and she was able to get it for me for $660.

Mine is costume made. With material and labor it came to about $1400. What's really expensive is the material, which is about $40/yard for the heavy silk charmeuse & English netting they use for wedding dresses. So now I think these high end gown makers are not so extortionist after all.

My mom and I went to the bridal salon to purchase my Jim Hjelm dress. It was $2500.00......BUT, as we were waiting for our sales associate to finish up with another bride, I decided to try on some bridesmaid dresses to see what would match well with my gown.
I ended up falling in LOVE with one that I tried on!! lol lol lol. So instead of ordering a $2500.00 gown that day, I ordered a $149.00 gown! I don't think my sales associate was too happy with me......
