About $500 for 125 of everything. They are Checkerboard and I love them.

Yeah, envelopments can get expensive because they charge you for every little piece.

Mine are letterpress and they're $1100 for 125

I spent $650 which includes 100 envelopment custom invitations, 100 response cards, 100 custom thank you cards.

I am sure i could have gotten cheaper invites but i wanted something that would 'wow' the recepient and all of the stuff in books just wasn't cutting it.

A grand on invites? I must be the only person on this board without a trust fund.

I love paper.
Its weird, but I do.
I LOVE orderign paper saples for catelogs 7 flyers at work.

I could easily go overboard with invites, but my motehr keepsreminding me that they will msotly be thrown out & its ok to go crazy on soemthing, but you have tyo ick &choose what the soemthign is.
So, if you've been underbudget with other things, & envelopments are a msut have for you, thenshop around a little, but if that's how muchtey cost, make that your splurge if you can afford it.

My hall & dress were on target for my budget, butI think I'd rather splurge on flowers & photos though, so Ithink I'm skipping the letterpress, b/c other than a few coworkers who also love paper & fonts & stuff, no one is going to remember.

I think that is very crazy. How many people actually save them, 5-10? I got mine from Rebecca at Favorite Things Invitations (board vendor) and they were about $2/set for colored ink on everything, inner lined envelope, outer envelope with ret. address, the invite and response card.

IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW THEY ARE PRINTED!

If they are letterpress, they cost more.

If they are embossed, they cost about $500 more, at least.

They look different.

We also ordered ours from Simplicity Planning and are paying about $400 for 150 invites.

The thing is, people throw this stuff away after the wedding. I mean, why spend $1,000 on stuff people are going to junk? Sure you'll have a nice on for your album, but that's about it. Not worth the jack imo.

(That doesn't mean get party store invites, but keep it reasonable)

Trust fund? Nah. I just wanted elegant looking invitations that were good quality too. I hadn't originally planned on spending more than $300, but then I found letterpress invitations and thought they were phenomenal. They'll be printed on heavy cardstock and they're very elegant, so you get what you pay for. I'm not saying you can't get nice invitations for less money..... it's all about personal choice. Some people don't mind laser printing which is cheaper, but some prefer engraving, letterpress, etc which is way more expensive.

Like I said, if you have the money, I guess sky's the limit. Remember most people junk them anyway.

agreed.

if $$$ is no object, who gives...

however if it is, then i personally would invest in something that day that will not be tossed in the garbage...

JMO - to each his/her own...
