How much did you spend/plan to spend on wedding bands?? (WITH POLL)

Went shopping for wedding bands last night at Bailey, Banks & Biddle, since that's where FH got my e-ring.

I was floored at how much the bands we liked cost. We figured around $1,000 TOTAL and the what we saw were more in the $1,000-$3,000 range EACH.

It might just be the store, so I was wondering what you girls averaged on your bands (for both you and FH).

We paid 2K for 3 custom made bands with diamonds. We got them in Jewelers Row in Chicago (similar to NYC diamond district).

After the wedding, I am going to have the jeweler extend the channel in the bands so that they align with my e-ring.

To all the girls who recommended Tri-County....

We went on Saturday to check it out and for the first hour I was there, I thought you were all NUTS!!! Everyone we saw was so pushy and had very little selection and I was getting really cranky!!

BUT....

...then we made our way to the 2nd half of the room, met some really nice, lo-key vendors and lo and behold, we found our wedding bands!! Very similar to the ones at B,B&B, but almost $2000 less!! FH was so pleased, we put the deposit down and will have our wedding bands in 3 weeks!!

A BIG THANKS to all of you who recommended Tri-County - I'll trust you in the future!!

ours were about $1500, they are matching bands, two tone with small diamonds...

Not too sure how much we'll be spending. FI knows a jeweler that custom makes jewlery. We draw what we would want the ring to look like and he tells us if he could do it.

Mine was about $1300 (platinum & diamond, famous brand, mathces my antique ER perfectly... and this was NOT an easy thing to do) from BB&B. A little pricey, but the only dealer around who carries this manufacturer. And they come with a lifetime warrantee and diamond bond. FH is white and rose gold $600 from fortunoff.

Can't wait to wear them!

We spent $1200 on mine (Channel Set Diamonds and Platinum) and about $900 on his - he got a really nice handmade platinum band - its like a work of art...so nice!!!

We basically got FH's ring for 'free'. I always thought I'd have to get my ring made since I have an odd shaped E-ring (Bagette/Marquios/Center stone Marquios/ Marquios/Bagette) but we found one that lined up almost perfect at Lundstrums. If we got the $70 3 year service plan and opened a charge card we saved as much as FH's ring cost w/ 3 year service plan. It was less the 1,000 for both, a decent amount less. And we both love our rings.

It's in Levittown on Hempstead Turnpike. The Jewelry Exchange is on the 2nd floor.

We spent about $1,000 on both bands. They are white gold with brilliant diamonds. That price includes a lifetime warranty.

I went to the jeweler last night for a custom ring...Mine ring was designed by moi and he made the ring now he has to make a special band to match...I was originally going for plain - but I saw a ring in a magazine I liked...

It would be platinum (to match), 5mm thick, tapered in the back to save $ w/ a baguette in the middle and 2 baguettes on the side all gong east to west - kind of different...
Priced at about $1500

Does that sound about right?

We're pretty lucky in that a very close friend of mine is a diamond cutter. I bought the engagement ring from him at his cost and it appraised at a little more than double what I paid for it. We were going to get the wedding rings from him as well. I got mine from him at a ridiculously low price but my fiance couldn't find anything she liked from what he had available, so she got hers from Helzberg for a pretty good price (my friend said she got a good deal).

$2,600 -- custom bands for both of us from Elsa. Mine will have 2 rows of diamonds set all the way around in a custom design. FH has the same custom design, no diamonds. We're actually going to see them for the first time on Monday! We're very excited!
