I went for my first fitting last night and including the bustle but not including the hem (I already paid for the hollow to hem), it's $320!
It seemed like more because the total was actually $405 since it included $85 for a slip. I almost passed out when I heard $405.
I lost weight since I ordered so the dress needs to be taken in a lot.
Anyway, is this normal?

mine are about $500 each give give or take but i also didn't buy the dress from there.

Mine came out to just under $500 but i added a slip and the bussel was included in that price. If you lost weight and had to take it in a lot, that's probably why it cost so much.

Oh ok. It sounds about right then. I hope they do a good job.
I also spent a fortune on a corset and that combined with the bra (which basially has a corset built in pushed me up way too much and I think I'm going to go bra-less. I'm a 38DD and I've never gone without a bra in the last 18 years...so I'm kind of nervous...

$590 with the bustle. Crazy how expensive it is, right? But I want my dress to fit like a glove and feel better than anything I have ever worn!

im budgeting like $1000 for alterations. Supposedly there's a $595 cap for alterations and my bustle is going to cost $295. I think it's absurd... i feel like there should be an industry standard... it's really variable!

Yeah! Mine is corset back and I did a HTH so i thought I'd only need a bustle. Not so. I lost so much weight that even if they pull the corset all the way in (thus losing the corset effect) it's still too big.
I feel like they made amistaker ordering the size. At the time I was in between sizes and I ordered the size smaller, so I feel like it shouldn't be SO big. *sigh*
Oh well, it's going to be gorgeous!

i bought the dress in petite so i wouldn't have to shorten the hem and when i bought the right shoes, i didn't have to alter the hem at all! but everything else, including the bustle came out to about $160.00
however, if you have to take the dress in or out - it makes the price go up. As someone who is large chested as well, i would not recomment doing braless on the biggest day of your life. not only will you be uncomfortable, but it won't give you the lines you want to shine through on your dress. If the corset is not what you expected, i would return it and purchase something else that will lift you the way you want.

I wouldn't go braless if you dont think you'll be comfortable.
I am a 42 G and the bridal salon suggested I go braless and I laughed.

mine was from davids bridal and it came to 305$ i paid 350$ for the dress

the alterations capped at $350 and we already exceeded it. I want to say it's initially $375. Don't know if it will be any more than that.

if your dress is a corset so NOT go braless! the corset back will loosen over time from movement/sitting etc and you don't want any 'mishaps.' im a 36dd and am also having a corset put in my dress and i am going to wear a regular strapless i think.
