How much did/are ure girls chipping in for ure shower?
Yesterday after my shower. My 2 closest friends came over. They told me the agreed on an amount and then My 2 Cousins said they wouldnt pay it. The Amount agreed on was 250.00 and My 1 cousin came out and said Im only giving 75.00 then my other cousin said Ill give 150.00 So My 2 friendshad to ask my mother for money and they felt like crap cause they thought they should have paid for it themselves. Im honestly upset that she said 'ill pay 75' Is that all im worth? Im glad that they told me all this!

I'm sorry!! Even though you are glad they told you, they shouldn't have, because now your upset!! My BM's all sucked so none of them chipped in for mine, actually my mom wanted to pay for it and only my MOH chipped in and bought the prizes and came up with the games. That was wrong of them to decide not to pay at the last minute when the money was due. They really should have spoke up befor hand. Peoples true colors really come out when you plan a wedding. Sorry they did that to you. How was your shower??

To be honest... i don't want my friends to pay for my shower... my mother and FMIL are throwing me a shower i think with the help of planning from my bridal party ( that is another reason why if you read... my BM should not be complaining about a 250$ dress)
but i have learned on here that the BP does much of the time pay. It depends on their situation. JMO-- sometimes people can't contribute that much.. maybe that is all she can give? I don't think i would be mad on top of all of the other stuff she has to pay for .. that is a lot of money
again... i would not complain if i were in a BP...i would be more than glad to pay because it is one of my closest friends
THIS IS WHY ONLY CLOSE people are in your BP... why doesn't everyone understand this before they accept

Nothing that I know of so far. My mom is paying for one in Philadelphia and FMIL is paying for one in NY. FSIL will probably help with that one since she is a BM. My two friends have been no help at all really. We'll see how it all turns out. I am trying not to let it get to me.
I think that is $250 was too much for any of them to chip in well that's OK but they should have spoke up before the shower not the day of.
Sorry you are having such a terrible time with all of this.

I know that my sister is throwing me the shower, she is the MOH. But she is having all the girls in the BP chip in fairly. They slit the total price 6 ways, that included my Mom who wanted to pitch in on the price. I think this is the fairest way and that is what I had did for her when it was her shower. It brought the price down per person that way and everyone agreed.

my mom paid for my shower. My cousin, Matron of Honor, paid for and made the centerpieces, favors, guest book, and name cards.
My 'best friend', maid of honor did not attend. Her mother came and gave me a gift on behalf of the two of them. It was nice, but totalled $100. So, I felt like my friend got off pretty easy.
but, supposedly, she will be taking care of a bachelorette party.

My mom is paying for the shower. She wouldn't accept any money from the girls. My FSIL made the favors, and my sister paid for the invitations.

My shower was great and although I was not wanting to go I had a good time. It was nice and everyone got along.

All my girls were only 23 and in College but my MOH offerred her parents home and there catering facilities food and alcohol. The girls paid for the flowers, linens, guest book, invites, cake and other assorted things. My mom paid for renting the wishing well and favors
Also each girl put in money towards a cam corder which was about 700 back then.
They all did what they could and we had a short engagement so I realized I have some pretty awesome friends!

That's what I did for my cousin's wedding that I was MOH. I was very upfront that I could not afford the shower on my own at the time. They all agreed to chip in. It was about $200.00 each for 7 girls.

My mother paid for my shower and my bridal party chipped in about $50 bucks each to cover my gift and decorations.
My FMIL made all the favors.
Proper wedding etiquettet(SP?) says that the bridal party is supposed to throw the shower and MOB should not pay for it. But my mother insisted.

That is not something you as the bride are supposed to know - It is up to them, if they are paying for the shower, to take whatever funds they have, and do as much as possible for you with that money - there shouldn't be 'she paid this BUT I PAID that and so on.....' Try not to let it bother you too much. And try not to think of it as your cousin thinking you're only 'worth' $75
