Each place told us what they wanted, and we felt what they asked for was fair.
Hall required $1000 Photo/Video required $700 Didn't get to DJ yet

my photographer and video is a client of mine so i don;t have to put anything down. thats all i did so far

I put down half over 9 months for my hall 1/4 for photo and video 100 for DJ Your price range is pretty accurate

Whatever the requirement was, I would put down a few hundred more; usually 50% of the bill for photo, dress, and limo. Better to not get stuck with several large bills in the end.
I couldn't agree more. The more money the better, if you can. Smaller amounts at the end may cause me less stress

Hall: $1000 photog & video: $800 (we have a very inexpensive package) DJ: they asked for $500 but we gave $1000 anyway!

From my experience, your range seems about right but it does depend in some cases what your total is.
I agree.....that seems to be a pretty standard range

The hall required a $1000.00 deposit when we booked. DJ was cool....only $50.00. Thats all I did so far

All i've booked so far was the hall.. CLM which required 1000 deposit and another 1000 every other month, till you've given them 5000. We are going to look at Unlimited Entertainment on Tuesday and they require a 25% deposit.

for hall: $1,000 for photog: $500 for video: $500 (same person as photog, it needed to be $1,000 total so i split it) i don't have a DJ, i am having a band, but for my band we put down: $1,000 and then two weeks later they wrote us requesting another $1,100 so we sent that check. it was stated to us from the beginning that that was their standard practice so we were aware when we got the bill for the $1,100 in the mail.
i put a certain amount of money aside each WEEK for the wedding and then when i accumulate some money i rotate and pay a little off from each vendor as i go. i keep a log of it all.

Hall - $1000 DJ - $200-300 (don't remember since FH took care of all the money) Photographer/Videographer - $500
Some halls don't require up to $1000 but some could ask for more!.
