Re: How much do you spend on FH/DH

Oh my god we have $500.....is that weird???

Last year we didn't make a limit but we spent well over that...

We usually do a 300-400 gift for bdays?

I just like a lot of gifts under the xmas tree i guess...

Re: How much do you spend on FH/DH

usually in the $200-$300 ballpark... but with the wedding coming up... most likely within the $2-$3 ball park We're relying on the 'its the thought that counts' motto this christmas

Re: How much do you spend on FH/DH

we have a $100 limit this year.. plus we're doing 'real' hanukkah.. which means 8 gifts. and to make it tougher at least 3 have to be thoughtful. we're screwed.

Re: How much do you spend on FH/DH

We try and set a limit, but we always go over. So we threw that idea out the window. We try and be reasonable without going crazy.

Re: How much do you spend on FH/DH

This year his Christmas/Anniversary/30th Birthday present is costing me over $3000...so divided by 3 I guess that's $1000 for each.

Plus a few random gifts under the tree for him to open Christmas morning.

He usually spends about $700 - $1000 on my gifts also.....

ETA:

Now that I read this is this wierd? a lot of people have limits, but all of us in my group of friends have alwyas spoiled each other for Christmas. For our birthdays we don't do gifts, just nights out with all of us.......

Re: How much do you spend on FH/DH

Usually around $300 but it's getting harder and harder to find anything to buy for him. He has just about everything he wants!

Re: How much do you spend on FH/DH

Over the yrs, we have probably spent about 300 to 400 each..which is stopping as of this year because we are trying to save and it was just getting out of hand..His b-day is the 13th also...

All I want is a kitty for christmas!! So, he's lucky this year!!!

Re: How much do you spend on FH/DH

We used to spend more when we were younger and living at home, but now we have limits depending on our circumstances around the holidays, we'll probably do $100 this year. We already decided that our parents and sibling had to be under $75 because that's all we could afford this year.

Re: How much do you spend on FH/DH

we normally do not buy each other gifts. (We spend the money on the kids instead Christmas, Chanukah, and my sons bdaty) At least we say that each year. This year i bought DH 2 nice pieces for his village. Spent over 200.00 easy. but I enjoy his villages too so I do not feel so bad givingit to him. It helps with decorationing the house. Makes it more festicve

Re: How much do you spend on FH/DH

I never really thought about how much I spent on his gifts in the past. I just bought things I thought he would like and if it looked like enough, I ended there.

Last year I ordered some nice things but I didn't get to do a stocking because I got the flu right before xmas.

This year I think he wants to set a low limit and I want to indulge. I want us to spend XMas morning opening presents.

We'll see. I am sure we can compromise.
