I feel like I spend a FORTUNE at the supermarket every month.. I think last month I spent about 400.00 and I dont even know what I bought...

I even try to go to different supermarkets once in a while if I think they are having a better sale. I always end up spending at least $80 like today and I didn't even buy any meat or cold cuts.

im in the same boat... I feel like i am constantly at the supermarket.. I tried to do the coupon thing but OMG i felt like i was at the supermarket for 3 hours trying to figure out what coupons i had and what was on sale...it didnt seem worth the 21 bucks i saved..

I have to do something quick cause we are moving into our new house soon and i dont think we can afford to blow money away like this...

I try, I really do to save money and be a wise shopper but no matter what it costs a fortune. Coupons don't really end up helping much either.

We spend about $100-$125 a week! Aweful, I know- but I eat lots of fresh fruits & veggies- which tend to be rather expensive....

It really depends on what I need and how often I do my coupon/sale runs.
I can do one every week and spend a good $80 at a time. But there are times that I dont go for a few weeks and John just stops and gets the essentials (Bread, milk) when we're low.
There's nothing I need to buy on a regular basis, because my freezers and pantries are stocked on anything and everything I need.
If I decide to cook something spur of the moment, I'll run out that day and get what I need. Yes I spend ALOT more than I need to when I DO go, but its stuff that lasts me a long time.

i have learned that sometimes the store brand is just as good. iga peanut butter is better than skippy! i go for shop rite chips, or the utz chips, the shop rite seltzer, cheddar, bread. some products are the same. i know NOT to skimp on renolds wrap (don't go cheap here) or windex. there are other products that you must buy the expensive one.

thanks to Anna, i have been spending $40 a week for groceries after coupons. before coupons, i spend about $75-80 - so i am saving about half. woo-hoo!!!!!

my pantry, freezer and frig are stockpiled enough, so all i need this week is milk and eggs. we have an awesome butcher right across the street from us, so i tend to run there as we need stuff. that's probably an extra $10-15 a week, depending on the week.

Anna I need to hire you as my personal food shopper.. I tried to do what you posted on the home board but its very difficult and i failed.

I guess were just going to be eating ALOT less.. and ill have to grow my own veggies

Today we spent $175 the last time I was there was 2 weeks ago... so then about 90 a week

I spend almost a $100 a week also and that is with coupons. Thats not even buying meat because I buy that at BJ's. I don't understand what I buy sometimes, it goes soo fast too. I also look for the sales write them down and use coupons. It is still high.

I think grocery shopping is like clothes shopping, theres alot of impulse buys involved. How much of what you buy is a NEED? I really rarely buy much junk. John gets in his moods for junk food, so I do buy some here and there, and some to have in stock for company or for going to someone's house last minute. I usually get brands on everything for LESS than the store brand. Yes sometimes store brand is just as good.

But who wouldnt rather have Breyers for the same price as store brand? or Chips Ahoy

I spend about 75 dollars every week. When I use coupons I tend to save about ten to fifteen dollars. I try to stay to my list.

i spend between 75 and 100 per week but do try to get things on sale and use coupons when i remember

we go every weekend and spend anywhere from $45-$90 roughly
