I really can't afford to pay for all my girls hair. But I know $75 was a little more than they wanted to spend. I offered to pay for some of the cost but everyone is shy about taking it. So i just want to either give them the money or give it that day.
Heres the question... how much of it should i pay? if you were a bridesmaid, what $ would you be OK with paying for hair?? (not including tip, i'll probably pay the tips).

I think 75 is ok if getting their hair done is voluntary.
Are you requiring them to get their hair done?

Re: How much do you think is reasonable??
no not requiring it, they want it done. and its too late to find someone else, wedding is Sunday (and honestly, this woman is worth it!!!). And the girls usual hair people weren't available sundays.
But we originally had a cheaper person almost booked, then that b*tch never called us back so we had to find someone else.

If you are not requiring it, I think 75 is reasonable enough and you can give the tips. If you want to be generous, you can pay 25 for each, so the girls only have to pay 50.
ETA: It also depends on how many girls ar ein your BP - if it's just 2 or 3 you might consider springing for the whole thing. But if its 4-6 nah.

It is only 3, but i CAN'T spring for the whole thing. I am paying for the MOHS hair in full.
We are almost out of money, otherwise i would pay for everything!

My girls are going on their own, to their own hair person that morning. I think regular salons are not as expensive as $75. I dont remember paying that much for an up do for prom. (that was my last formal function)

Re: How much do you think is reasonable??
I am paying $65 each for them. And, it's being done by someone who works for my fi's uncle. So, at $65 per person, I am receiving a discount.

Honestly for a BM that sounds like a lot..but if they don't have to, then what about them do each others hair? Or themselves?
Are they getting their make up done too?

Re: How much do you think is reasonable??
I'd probabaly think $45 was reasonable, so if you can pay $30, that seems fair. But if you can pay a little less, that's fine too, so I'd say $20-$30, depending onwhat you can afford.

thanks.
the question isn't whether they should get it done, if they should find someone else, if its too expensive. it's how much as a bridesmaid would you be willing to put towards doing your hair? (so i can pay the difference)
I'm not paying for their makeup since that is even more optional. The hair they were getting done whether it was at their salon or my woman. And since they could not get their salon people to do it that early, they will use my person.

You're welcome.
I know, your wedding is this week- there is no point in talking about getting someone else to do it.

I am in Brooklyn....but....my place is going to open at 8:00 am for me and they are charging us 35.00 for hair.
I was shocked. If anyone is wiling to travel or interested, please let me know, I am more than happy to help.

Didn't realize it was this week...sorry!
I think that you offering to pay anything is more than generous. I don't think 75 is cheap but not that bad either.
Good Luck...talk to the girls!!!

Re: How much do you think is reasonable??
I would be willing to pay around $50-55. I think that is reasonable.
Question for you...since your wedding is on Sunday, weren't you aware of this price? Seems kinda late to be bringing it up now.

I am aware of the price, thank you. And ive been planning on paying for a portion of it since i booked her, i already had it in my budget. But i just felt like seeing what other people thought was a fair price to ask them to pay. I didn't wait for the last minute.

Hey, you don't have to get bent out of shape. I didn't mean to offend you. Geez.

Re: How much do you think is reasonable??
I would be willing to pay about $50 only if the bride really wanted it (I prefer to handle hair myself).
I wouldn't take a makeup option, every time I have done this I wind up looking like a clown and redoing myself as we are out the door...

Re: How much do you think is reasonable??
I have an idea. Since $50-$55 seems like the average price (I don't know myself, but from this post), why don't you pay the hairdresser directly the $20-$25 and that way she will charge the girls $50-$55. JMO.
