How much do you think soap actors get paid?

How much do you think soap actors get paid?

Do you think they get an annual salary? Or is it per episode? Like, I'm sure Susan Lucci makes millions, but I am talking about your every day soap actor / actress....

I think any amount they make is TOO much!

My girl started watching General Hospital on the soap net channel from 9-10am. She doesn't start getting ready for work till after 10am... and thats around the time I am getting ready for work or leaving for work so i've seen it here and there.

I rag on her because the way I see it... the acting on these soaps are so bad... i compare it to one step above 'WWE wrestling acting'. And I *love* WWE, but even I know those wrestlers can't act. And even my girl once said while she was watching General Hospital, 'Man that was a bad acting scene'.

Ok... flame on. I had to say it.

I'll take $72-135/yr for working TWO DAYS A WEEK!!!!

And I agree, the acting is not so stellar but I still watch when I get the chance!!!



So for those of you who are considering a career in daytime television, here's a run-down of a typical annual salary for year one, five, and ten or more years.

1st Year Mark - $72,800 - $135,200/per year

5 Year Mark - $135,000 - $260,000/per year

10 Year Mark - $156,000 - $416,000/per year

But how do they afford the designer clothes for the awards and appearances at those starting salaries???

I am sure that many times those designers put these clothes on them to get attention to their designs for free.... like a promotional thing.
