for a very close friend.....you are not in the bridal party though.
I think I usually spend about $75ish

$150-200 it depends. I have a shower coming up soon but cant attend bc ill be away, but she came to my shower and will give about the same so a little over $100
if its a very good friend and depends how good obviously then 200-300

Ok that is what I thought the norm is....anyway I can see how much people spent on me on my honeymoon registry and most people are getting $50 gifts. (It also says their name!) I am definitely grateful for these but am just alittle shocked I guess. I am just bratty when it comes to my presents! LOL!!!!!

If it's one of my closest friends - about $150-200. Although, on ocassion, I have spent much much more on people who have just always been super generous to me.
Other friends - about $100.

you never know...Some would rather give a gift than give you cash so maybe thats why with the HM registry they only gave $50 but maybe they are buying you something with it

NOW i would give between 75- 100, a few years ago i was SO poor that i couldnt give much , i think i gave a good friend a 30 gift , but if i could have given more i would have

they might be giving you a bigger wedding gift and thats why less on the shower....
id probably spend 50-150 on a shower gift depending on who the couple is

I spend anywhere between $50-$200...it depends n who it is...for a casual friend $50...for a close friend depening on what they need closer to $200.

i give whatever i can afford at the moment. when my brother got married I gave my SIL small gifts because i was still in college.
now that im working and my MOH is getting married i'll prob spend a few hundred.
i feel bad because looking back i would like to give my brother and his wife more

This is a really good question. I always thought for a friend (not extremely close) but i see them all the time that $75-$100 is good. But ,when it came to my shower i got gifts from like $40-$50 so i started to think that maybe that was the norm??

People really spend that much on shower gifts??? wow. More sticker shock for me. I must be real cheap then. I went to FH's cousin's shower last weekend and the 4 of us gave $35 each. Immediate family is different. I was thinking about $50 on average for friends and non-immediate family members.

it really depends. I spend $100 for friends i'm okay with, $150-$200 for close friends, and $400-$500 for family. That is also the amount people spent at my shower......with the exception of a few people who i was extremely shockeddd about (3 people gave $40 each, meanwhile my mom paid $45 per plate, anddd my favor was Kosta Boda votive)...they made out well!
