How much does a typical favor cost?

I am trying to budget and buy favors- but FH thinks I am spending too much money...

How much is average? (225 ppl)

I am not including wrapping for now-
(I've been getting an average of $1-$1.50 for packaging. If you have any prices for that through websites though please share!)

It all depends upon what you want as a favor.
You can go cheap or you can spend a lot.

look at some of the websites to get an idea of pricing. Try Wrap With Us to get some ideas. I bout some of my supplies there.

eta : also, you really don't give each person a favor, usually one per couple or guest attending alone.

It depends on how elaborate you want the favor to be. People who want to have edible favors will probably have to pay more (tiny cakes, wine, cookies, chocolates) than someone who just wants more traditional favors like frames etc. But 2-3 dollars per favor seems like a reasonable price.

If you dont have much money in the budget for favors, you could always donate to a charity. It doesnt have to be a significant amount....100 dollars would be fine. Then, you could just place a card at each table, 'In leui of favors, we have donated money to ____________'.

If you want to do favors...what is your theme? What do you and FH like? (Do you like to cook? Do you like wine? Do you like photography?) Its nice to add a personal touch to favors. FH and I are giving wine as favors b/c FH's family makes their own wine (we're not sure if we're using their wine yet, though)

I really want brownies for favors to fit my vintage (early 21st century) decades theme- they gave the groom's cake as a favor with tiny figures (think monopoly pieces) as fortunes in the cake .. I want to do a twist on that...

and the lowest priced brownies w/ wrapping were between $2.50-$3 , an internet company thorugh a LIW gal and my local bakery ...

the wrapping is $1-$1.50 of that price so maybe I could try to get them cheaper but I thought that was a good price overall!

I orginally was thinking about a favor per person, but especially if we get the local brownies, they are large enough for two I think.

My favors cost $3.30 each. I had keychains with four leaf clovers inside for $3.15 each (including shipping) plus $.15 for small indian pouches that the keychains were placed in.

Depends. I think most weddings I have been to (mind you that are largely Croatian or Italian weddings) the favors range from 5-12 and are given per couple.

We are spending on the high end of that. We decided to get cheaper invites and more expensive favors.

FH and I are spending around $400 for favors. We are doing a wine (Hennessy) bottle wrap in a tulle with our personalized ribbon on it.

We pay $350 for 150 bottle of wine (we want to a depot wine store in New Jersey). Then we bought tulle at a 99cents store. We pay $30.00 for personalized ribbon from a store located in Bklyn. Our aunt are doing the favors for us. Yay!

My niece had cute little boxes with just one or two delicious truffles inside. A suggestion though, get samples!!!! My Daughter, Debi, was pleased with some favor samples and other samples were very cheaply made and fell apart. Mary MOB

It really depends on what you are getting, I have been to wedding where they gave a set of four martini glasses, crystal etc. which is quite expensive, then I have been to weddings where they gave a bottle of wine (love this idea),. We went with a donation and mini cheesecakes for each person. HTH

Mini Cheesecake sounds like a great favor - can I ask where you got them?
