Just wondering how much everyone is spending and what they are getting ( so that I am prepared when I start going to the flosits! )

Re: How much for your centerpieces?
I'm not spending as much as I was afraid I would. I haven't made any final decisions, but my written estimate put the centerpieces at or under $50. I wanted low centerpieces with candles. I think the tall ones are beautiful, but everyone tells me not to bother because you can't see across the table.

Re: How much for your centerpieces?
No sorry, I haven't finalized anything. I'm not doing traditional rose centerpieces. Since it's an Oct. wedding they are going to be bouquest of fall colored (red, orange, yellow) flowers. My bouquet, as well as the BMs will be calla lillies(in burgundy). Mine will have the cl and black magic roses (maybe a couple of ivory roses thrown in) and the girls will have smaller bouquets of just the cl. Unless something else sparks my interest, I think that's what they'll be.

Re: How much for your centerpieces?
I'm getting these but instead of having 50 tulips I'm having 30. there $130 each.. but.. I'm renting the vase.. (maybe) Now I'm rethinking centerpieces, concidering.. we're broke.. lol
My centerpieces were included in our package at the hall... They were not that important to me and my DH, so we told the florist the color scheme, and they ran with it. They came out lovely. Just wanted to add that THEY WERE NOT fromt he same florist as my bo-ks!!!

Re: How much for your centerpieces?
The hall we are using put in our contract that if we wanted to use there fake ones they have there we can for free.. but FI wont let me!! isnt that stupid?!?! He said his family likes to take them home ( WTF?!) and that they wont be able to and he dosent like that I have to tell them please dont bring them home with you! I mean there not the best looking things on earth but it would save alot of money... he drives me nuts sometimes!!

85 each the flowers on the table will be like the purple flowers
If you FI insists on you purchasing centerpieces a nice idea )and not as expensive as flowers) is to get nice hurricanes and have candles as your centerpiece. I'm sure poeple would like to take them home and they won't die in a few days. My engagement party had an autumn theme and I bought really nice hurricanes in Odd Lot for like $8. The ones I had had fuits on them but they also had pretty floral ones too.

Centerpieces are very important to me - we plan on spending up tp $250 a centerpiece - hopefully we can get lower by shopping around - but i love a lot of flowers!

You dont have to tell him! At the end of my night, we were not worried about who did or did not take home the centerpieces!! Throw the thought at your MIL.. and see what she says!!

Re: How much for your centerpieces?
Also try Donald Hedgecock. He can do centerpieces as low as $10-$20 each - someone on theknot.com got him to do 10 tulips in a vase for $10, and his basic centerpieces are $20. I'm doing upgraded for $30-$35, and they're comparable to what other florists charge $50 for.
we are going really low tech on centerpieces we figure to spend about 5.00 per table - we're using 2 pumpkins and 3 candles on each table this way it is low and we can spread it over the lenght of the table - we are having the long oval ones

Thank God I have jack and Rose because now my centerpieces are affordable. But from the other florists I met with. the ones I wanted would have run me about $200 -$250 each.

Re: How much for your centerpieces?
We are doing votive candles and rose petals on about 15 tables. Total is $100. Centerpieces aren't that important to me. We weren't originally going to get video, now we can because we saved so much in other places!
