how much is a deposit......

On a catering hall? I am totally in the dark about this kind of stuff. Was just wondering if we should even start looking at catering halls if we dont even have enough money for a deposit?

I believe mine was $1000 to book the room and $1500 a month later when signing the contract.

I think mine was $500 or $1000... pretty sure only $500 though.

Usually they ask for about 10% of the total. So lets say they give you a total of $100 per person (including tax and gratuity) for 100 people, that comes to $10,000. Your deposit would be $1000. It depends on your hall.

I think it is usually 10% of the minimun you have to guarantee for the day.

My initial deposit on my hall was $1000. We didn't have to put any more money down til 6 months, then 3 months and then two weeks+ before the wedding!!
