How much $$$ is a good gift for a friend's wedding?
A friend of my FH is getting married this May. He is the first of our group to get married. What is an apporporiate amount to give? We think the per person cost of the reception is about $120. So would $250 be ok or should we go higher?

I agree with the girls, that's very generous. We usually give $100 per person....

Is your FH in the bridal party? $250 is a nice gift. If they are really close friends or if your FH is in the bridal party I would do at least $300.

Maybe we'll give $250 and get them a registry gift. The bride didn't have a shower, so I'm not feeling 'tapped out' if you know what I mean.

FH is not in the bridal party. Only the groom's brothers are.

We usually give 200-250 for friends, 300-350 for good friends.

Depends on how close you are with the person. When FH's friend got married we gave $250. My best friend is getting married in July and I am a BM, I plan on giving them $400.

I said $250 before, but I agree with the other ladies - if they are close friends I would give $300.

I think anything between $250-300 is a good gift. I hope my friends are as nice!!
