paying for their invitations? This is my next task to tackle. FH and I have picked ones that we like, but I'm worried that we are spending way too much on them. It's coming out to almost $700 for 100 invites. Am I crazy? How much is everyone else's coming to?

This was the one thing I refused to pay a lot for since people just throw them away. Our cost us $350 for 125 of them.

I felt the same way, knowing that people throw them out....we are spending $265 for 100...we got them from Invitation Station in Deer Park. HTH

I had a hard time paying a lot for our invites but we really didn't love a lot of the ones we saw in books. We came across Smashing Cards, that was recommended by and '06' Bride (AutmBride) and we are paying about $700 for 130 invites.
The ones we did like from a paper store cost about $1900 so we felt like we did so good when we were paying about $700. I think $700 isn't too bad, as long as your happy with what you chose

Mine were $130 for 150 invites, I did DIY ones from ACMOORE and they had a black and white pic if FH and I inserted in them....I used the 40% off coupons everytime I bought a box so they came to about $15 a box plus $40 for 140 copies of my E-pic I had made to insert..........
I'm guessing mine are gonna be around $150-60 for 100. We're going with exclusivelyweddings.com. They're really affordable because they do their own printing, supposedly, instead of going through a 'middleman.'
ETA: FH refused to let us go over budget on invitations, just as it was said earlier in the thread- they will get thrown out.
ETA again! I lied!!! I just priced out the invites and because we're going for some different add-ons and whatnot, it'll probably be a little over $200. Oh well, it's definitely worth it!!

With the invitations, receptions cards, and response cards it is going to come to about 250. As already me ntioned, since they are probably going to be thrown out, I think there is no need to spend so much money on them. (JMO)

cost is highly dependent upon what you're getting... $700 for 100 invitations may be a lot for standard printing methods, but if it is engraving or letterpress on handmade paper, it would be a bargain.
we spent about $700 on 50 letterpress invitations on handmade paper with 2 ink colors, pre-printed envelopes, and 2 ink colors on the invitation, rsvp, and direction card.... and that was really inexpensive relative to other quotes ($1750+)

don't worry too much about it... this purchase is much easier than the rest. Just go online and look at the printing method and the paper quality... almost all vendors have their prices quoted online. You'll quicly discover what is a fair price for what you want....

We spent $360 for 150 invitations. They just get thrown out so I didn't want to go too crazy.

i just picked ours up friday and after everything i think they came to about $350....they are pretty simple, not pocket folds or anything....but we liked them! that was for 100
