How much is LASIK ??

Anyone have any idea how much and any good recommendations??

I wasn't a candidate for LASIK... I had PRK.

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Cheng at Stahl Eye Center. They were the least expensive and the BEST (I went to three different places). I respected that they told me NOT to do LASIK because of the shape of my corneas, even though LASIK would have been more $$).

They also had the best payment plan.

I had it done on June 15th, and I don't regret it for a minute!!!! I healed perfectly and the follow-ups are GREAT! They were there for me every step of the way... the staff are all great!

They are located in Garden City, with satellite offices in Hauppague and Manhattan.

Please let me know if you go there, because I get something for referrals. (movie tickets or something, but I'm not referring you for that... I REALLY admire their facility and I did my homework before I had such an important surgery done!).

oh yeah... the price!

I had a discount because I have Vision Coverage... so I paid $3200 for PRK. LASIK is a little more.

I had custom Lasik done for about $4,500. I got it done in December at Diamond Vision in the city.

I got Lasik (PRK) done in November 2005 by Dr. Jeffrey Dellorusso. He is awesome! Highly recommend him.

I got a great payment plan for 18 months interest free. I also got a discount because I have Cole Vision through my company. That saved me $1100.

I also had it done at diamond vision. The run specials all the time (check Newsday, Post, etc). My fiance & I got a great deal last year (buy one get one free). So we paid $4k total for the both of us. He had lasik & I had PRK (I wasn't a candidate for Lasik). Best thing we've ever done for ourselves!!!

i hear you can get it done in canada for alot cheaper, same quality. :)

Another way to pay for it is to do what I did. I enrolled in my company's healthcare reimbursement plan for thesurgery amount, then I took out a loan from my 401K to pay for the surgery. Once I had the surgery done I submitted the receipt for reimbursement and paid back my 401K!

Best thing I ever did for myself!

I just had Prk done at Stahl Eye Center with Dr. Hufnagel. Although my left eye will probab;y need a touch-up, I'm still glad I did it.

I paid $2500-plus 5% off because their websites had a special. I would highly reccomend going to see several doctors and get a feel for who you feel comfortable with. I would also recommend trying to get appoints with the doctors who are the directors of the facilities becasue they typically have a lot more experience. FM me if you have any questions.

and Dr Basilice is awesome!!!!! I got it done in febraury and got a discount for being a teacher. I think it was like 3k.

Another Liwer is using him this tuesday as well.

Thanks for the info ladies My FH and I have been considering this for awhile and now I see that Diamond accepts our insurance!
