How much is too much? BM Dresses

My poor MOH is in 4 weddings in 3 weeks next summer. I keep telling her that she needs to piss some people off.

Anyway, one of her brides just sent her the BM dress that she'd like them to buy. It's $270!! What would you guys do in this situation? I told her to get a quote off of Netbride to see if it's cheaper there. Would it be totally inappropriate to say that she can't afford a gift if she spends so much on the dress?

I think it's a lot, but I don't think it's that uncommon. Before she says anything, think of how you would feel if your BMs questioned any of your decisions? If it were me, I'd see if I could find it for less elsewhere, and then say to the bride 'Oh, guess what! I found that dress for $100 less at XXX' as if you're doing her a favor.

Then again, come the wedding, if there's problems with the delivery, alterations, etc ... she may catch some heat from the bride - depending on who the bride is.

I went with Phyillis @ gownfind and found my BM dresses for $126! see in my album.

That dress is beautiful, and I bet the girls will wear it again! We just started looking and I can't believe how expensive BM dresses are!!

Hard on the BM's, esp. if they have more than one wedding! She can also get a price from Burton's 631-424-3377.
