How much is too much for a trial

I was quoted $100 for a makeup trial and $300 for day of and wanted to know if this sounded like too much. I wanted to get opinions before I scheduled the trial. TIA

I'm paying 75 for the trail, 150 for the day of....and an addtional 50 for makeup the day of.
I do know of cheaper places...but I have gone to this shop since it opened and I know and trust their work....and you get what you pay for.

I had several trials in the 35- 60 dollar range. There was someone I wanted to try who charged $95 for an airbrush trial. I ended up putting her off until last (since I wasn't totally satisfied with my other trials).
I ended up booking her and am thrilled. That said, I don't think expensive always equates with good. Try makeup artists whose prices are lower and if you don't like those, schedule the trial with the more expensive person.

Personally, I would never pay that much. I paid $20 for my trial and Day Of will be $75.

I think that's a little high, BUT - if you love it and that's the only one you go on then I think it's worth it.
You could have 4 trials with different people and spend at least $200!!
My makeup trial was free, but she's $250 the day of.

I am a makeup artist, as some of you know, and I charge 25 for trials, and 100 for the day. And the more women that want their makeup done, the less I charge. 50 per bridesmaid, MOB, and so on...... This one is a rip off, trust me!

for makeup that sounds like alot - hair I could see, if they are coming to the house.
