Re: How much is too much for wedding gown alterations??
My alternations were free at the wedding salon.

I'm just a bit confused about the price that I am being charged for alterations for my wedding gown. I was lucky enough to find 'the' dress. It was a bit out of my mom's budget, but the salon owner said she'd take $200 off and give me the head piece and veil for free. I went for my first fitting last week and was told that the alterations are going to be $360!! The alterations weren't even extensive. I ordered a size 2 and it fits almost perfectly. The owner told me that she had the manufacturer hem the dress before it even came to the store. I am just wondering if this is normal?? I am thinking that I am being taken advantage of because she just wanted the sale when I first tried on the dress and 'took off' $200 from the price of the dress and 'threw in' the headpiece and veil just to add on to the price of alterations in the end... I just wanted your opinions :) Thank you!

Ginamarie, do you have to do the alterations at the same place you bought the dress?
Mine were WAY expensive and all I needed was a hem, bustle and had a custom strap made-$450 so I don't know....I definitely think I was overcharged but I loved my bridal shop so went with it.
