How much is your gym membership???

I am looking into joining NYsports club and they want $80 a month....just seems so high.

i joined nysc and it's only 60 something. i know they gave us some sort of deal, but i can't remember why. might have been a family rate or b/c we signed for two years. try to talk them down, or wait for a sale, they happen pretty frequently.

I belong to World Gym...It is $53 per month

I belong to Sunrise Fitness (holbrook) and pay $30 a month. I pay $100 each April for a yearly charge.

i belong to bally's and pay $20 a month. but for the past 3 years it was about $40 a month.

I joined Lucille Roberts and took their 2 year plan option for about 300 (I also got a gold membership - that allows me to go to any of their gyms... except Manhattan) I think its great because it works out to $13 per month.

I also checked out ballys and they wanted between $43 - 80 per month. But I think they said if you join for 3 years it drops to $20 month.

Ronkonk----How do you find Lucille? Do they have fairly good machines? Do they do a consultation with you? Do they show you how to use the machines? What are the average hours like?

169 a month. But it is one of those all inclusive crazy places. spa, gym, pool- indoor and out, tennis- indoor and out.

I'll be honest with you, this is the first gym I've ever joined - but I happen to love them. Never thought I would be motivated enough to go to classes - but they are so different (from Yoga to Kickbox) that I sometimes go for 3 in a row.

I find it very convinient that I can go to any (with gold membership) - with my job that's a major perk. I think the classes alone are worth it (best instructor so far is in Plainview - but that gym itself is dirtier than the suffolk ones)

IMO - hours aren't the best - I think they should open earlier and have more classes on Sat. and Sun.

Machiene's are pretty good - for the elipical and treadmills you have to sign up, which almost got me into one fight.

Personal training is extrememly reasonable - like $20.

They do consults when you first join - for personal training sessions - and for when they show you the machienes.

You could probably visit the gym one day and get a free pass to take a few classes - they are really agressive about calling you after that though (Commack manager is particularly annoying - and even pulled me aside to ask me why I didn't sign up with her - that her bonus depends on how many people she signs up - then she kind of gave me dirty looks after that - and now some how - she snagged my number again to work as a 'party host' for her cookware parties - I find her quite unprofessional)

my gym was 225 for a years membership.. but my gym is the holiday inn gym!

i like the fact that i can in there and usually be the only one so i can do what i want how i want. plus they have a heated pool that if i decide not to continuously do laps i dont get kicked out ot.
