I know it depends on the house and the area, but how much realistically can you bid. Is 10K way to low to bid if there is nothing wrong with a house

Re: How much lower do people usually bid...
everytime i bid lower on a house i was outbid so im a bad example i know people that bid 10 grand less and got the house so it just depends on how many offers they received and how motivated they are to sell. i think that the winter months bring less bids and better chances to get better deals. we bid 10 grand less opn the house they we are buying and got it but that was because it was over priced and the real estate agent told them to take the offer it was the best they were getting

It depends on how long the house has been on the market and how desperate the owners are to get out. Guess the inspection in Mt. Sinai didn't go well?

Well - Funny you should ask - the inspector told us that the price we bid was a premium for the house - so we bid less, a lot less, and ended up annoying the seller I guess - Then we randomly saw the inspector again today in town, and he called us over to tell us that maybe it wasn't a premium after all for that area - I thought to myself 'real nice, jacka**,that you tell us this after we call the seller....' But I really wasn't too upset, I wasn't sure about the place. We went to an open house today in that area, and turned out we loved the place, so we may bid on that instead. It all turned out for the best - because my heart wasn't really into that Mt. Sinai house

definately depends.... we bid lower on a house, but between counter offers and other bidders it seemed to come up anyways.........
however, there was another house that went on the market, a week later dropped 10k in asking price.... basically know the area, if its a good condition house in that area, then asking price is really good b/c it will get bid up otherwise......

well its better that you didnt get the first house if you werent 100 percent sure. i did that as well dha nd i bid on a house he liked because the price was right but i hated the location and wasnt happy at all. i was thrilled when we were out bid lol
