how much of a deposit for photographer?

can anyone tell me how much of a deposit you normally have to leave w/ a photographer in order to book? we are considering proline, duet and patken so any info on those three would be helpful....thanks!

I had to leave $1000 when I booked B rett M atthews. Everything but $450 is due about a month or so before the wedding.

Duet was $500.

Duet was 500, and then another 300 a few months later for the promo package.

We didn't have to leave a deposit with ours. I think he might want half payment before the wedding and the rest when we pick up the pictures.

FH and I met with Proline and Duet last Saturday. We liked Proline a lot. Very nice and great photos and videos. there is a $500 deposit. We didn't find Duet as professional. They were very nice, but their videos didn't compare, although they were slightly cheaper. FM me if you need more info. :)
