Im going to a wedding in PA. Its FHs friend from college and I really dont know them. How much of a gift is acceptable?
I was thinking $200. Is that two much or not enough? Im worried b/c I think people expect a nice amount of gift from us because FH makes good money but at the same time we are a couple starting out too and are paying for a big wedding.
So how much do you think is good? I heard you should pay for your plate at least but I have no idea how much their wedding is and if its a big elegant thing or small inexpensive wedding.
If you give money how much? If you give a gift how much do u spend? Do you get one thing?

Not close to me at all. I dont even know them. But FH and him are friends. Not best friends but they were on the same football team in college. Its in Pittsburg at the Embassy Suites Hotel.

Can you look up the location online and see what it looks like. I think that $200 is ok. I mean if it was someone closer or a Li Wedding I would up it.

$200 is fine- you should give whatever you want- it should be based on your closeness to the couple- not how much you make- HTH

Since you are traveling out of state and you don't know them really well, I think $200.00 is OK. If it were in NY, I'd say go higher...JMO When considering gifts, I think about how close we are, where the wedding is and whether I'm going alone or with FH. I usually start at $100.00 per person, assuming it was at least that much to have us there. So, that would be $200.00 for FH and myself. Then I consider that anything more would be the present. For example, my best friend is getting married this year. I am starting at $500.00 and considering more since I know her hall is pricey.-
