Not much at all. Enough to put deposits down on a few places. We're saving as we go along.

ahaha well I guess you'd have to have a deposit
I think we could come up with the initial deposits over the next few months, but after that we'd be in trouble.

Re: How much of your total wedding budget
between both our savings accounts, we had a little over enough to cover our RH. so using that to make RH payments, and vendor deposits. so now we are saving all we can to make sure we have more then enough to pay for everything inc. honeymoon, and then hopefully, hopefully, we will have some money in the bank to start our life.
etd.... i should added that we were saving for a year or so to buy an apt ... small turn of events... never got an apt, got engaged, so now a wedding.

Re: How much of your total wedding budget
enough to put the DP down on the hall and a little extra (but not much). Since we have a lot of time to save we're savings as we go along. Next thing we need $$ for is our second DP to hall due in March.

Re: How much of your total wedding budget
zero here! the deposits are coming from small sacrifices here and there. Less money in the grocery and shoe store. No liquor store, stuff like that. It all adds up.

We are using our tax returns and bonuses to pay a LARGE part of our wedding.

I had no bonus this year (economy!), but I forgot about the tax return thing. That will definitely help!

Re: How much of your total wedding budget
We have a lot saved but we are using the majority of it for the DP on a house rather than for the wedding. For the wedding payments, we are saving as we go and trying not to take TOO much out of savings because I want to keep that for our future house.

Re: How much of your total wedding budget
We had an engagement party... so that got some money together for us to have deposit money. Then we started saving saving saving. We booked the vendors slowly. I definately had all the deposit money... and for most vendors I was able to book knowing that we had enough at that point to pay them completely. But we booked some vendors slowly... and took long breaks between booking each vendor.
There were some vendors and haha the HM that we didn't have the money when we booked... but we had deposit money and used the time to save save save.
I think the most important thing is to make sure you book vendors with prices you know you can handle. Book things that you KNOW you can realistically have money for and be able to pay them off in the end. I hear a lot of girls who booked places like the reception location and stuff like that... and later realized they couldn't afford it and had to cancel. you don't want to have to go through that... I'm sure it's a HUGE disapointing set back AND you probably stand to potentially lose some money.
Make a projected budget and list the amount of money you can save by a certain point.... and be VERY realistic with it. Also when I figured out how much money we have vs how much we owe... I always rounded up on what we owe and rounded down on what we had. This gives some extra cushion room in the end.
