How much on BM dresses?

How much are you asking your BMs to spend on dresses. I haven't picked mine yet, but I'm trying to keep them under $150.
FYI I found a great website that has all the main bridemaid dresses way cheaper than the stores, check out www.houseofbrides.com

With added straps, shawl and tax, they are paying $220 and that is with free alternations.

My girls were in Champagne with accents of gold and ivory. Jr. BM was in ivory. Their dress were $110.00 each without sales tax. Jr. BM dress was under $100.00 also without sales tax. Anything over this, IMHO, is asking too much from them.

mine were $40 including tax... its part of their bridal party gift... but they need to alter them a little

Mine were $320 for the gown + $90 for the wrap + alterations. We got a %15 discount.
