My FSIL is going to be my MOH - and she has been WONDERFUL, planning my whole shower alone, being very supportive & helpful in general. I have no other Bridesmaids. I want to give her a really nice gift (jewelry maybe??) but I also can't spend a lot of money right now - we just don't have it How much would be reasonable to spend? (Obviously she doesn't NEED to know how much I spent, but just need ideas - I don't want to look cheap, either) I'd like to get her a nice piece of jewelry.

Re: how much $$$ on MOH gift??
This might be totally off base for you, but if you go to Jackson Heights in Queens, there are a lot of Indian jewelry stores that sell beautiful 18k jewelry, and you can really bargain with them. But you'd probably want to take along a friend who's Indian, if possible. And it may or may not be something your MOH would want.

How much are you willing to spend? You can do a variety of things. The first that comes to mind is getting her a gift basket filled with lotions, oils, stuff like that. You can always get things on sale at Bath & Body Works or the Body Shop. You can get her slippers and a bathrobe too. I believe Kohl's has the maidenform slippers for $10 a pair. A brunch would be nice too. If you tell us how much you are willing to spend we can help you with more suggestions. Tiffany's also has reasonable priced jewelry.

ALot of thought can go into your gift, even if you dont have alot of money to spend. How about doing a few things like, jewelry, a manicure pedicure gift certificate. (and thats something both of you can do together!) and I like the gift basket idea personalized with things she loves.

Re: how much $$$ on MOH gift??
I stress about this too. But there is no certain maount you have to spend..you do what is in your budget and what you can afford. I will probably get my MOH's bracelets from Tiffany's. they are nice and not that expensive. I know my sisters will love them and have them forever. Just do what you feel comfortabel with! There is not set rule. Alot of people go overboard and thats great..but often their parents are paying for their wedding, so tehy might have alittle more cash than those who are paying for the wedding themselves. Gow ithin yoru budegt, otherwise you woudl stress unnecessarily. I was a MOh in my sisters wedding..and I didnt even expect a gift because I knew they were on a tight budget. I was Thrilled to be a part of her wedding. She gave me a beautiful cross with Diamonds in it and I wear it all of the time...but its not about HOW MUVH you spend..its about teh thought and love that went into that gift!

Re: how much $$$ on MOH gift??
My MOH is my Sister and because she is great, I bought her a necklace from Whitehall in the Smithaven Mall....It was a $600 necklace (Ruby with Diamonds) and it was on sale for $240...something like that...I am also taking her and my mom to get massages two days prior...and I got her slippers and robe with her initials embroidered on it.
I know that MOH's have a big responsibility and at least for my sister I know that she is proboably spending a lot, so I wanted to give her something special and spend more than I did for the BM's

Re: how much $$$ on MOH gift??
PS - like everyone else said...it's not how much you spend - it's the thought you put in to it. Don't stress about it - no one should EXPECT a gift (not saying your MOH does!).
