everyone says to lie about when your real wedding date is so that you make sure your dress is in on time.
my question is, how far in advance should i say my wedding really is??

I would not give my hard earned money to a store that I did not think was capable of placing and receiving an order on time. They order dresses all of the time, and I had no problems trusting that my dresses would be in on time. JMO.
I agree. I didn't lie about it because I didn't want it to mess with the timing of the fittings. I ordered my dress in Nov for my August wedding and they said it would prob come in May - it came in March. The bridal salon probably ups the date with the manufacturer/designer, but I'll leave that to them.

I gave my actual wedding date in my experience if the bridal shop is familiar with the company you are ordering from they will tell you they are putting down a different date if they have had problems with the manufacturer before...that happened with my Bm dresses the girl working at the shop put down a month earlier!
