How much time before the wedding should we order tuxes?
How far in advance would you recommend ordering tuxedoes for FH and GM (wedding is June 21st, 09) ? Also how far in advance do they have to get measured? Our problem is that all of our GM are in Israel and will prob be coming no sooner that 2 weeks before the wedding. I mean I could prob have them measure themselves at home according to the Tux place criteria but would that be enough time for alterations. I heard so many horror stories about these tux places that it makes me a lil worried...

That is a tough call b/c they can't come here. If they can get their measurements and then maybe you can order themhere...that way when they come here 2 weeks before they can get the final alterations within those 2 weeks. I think that would work out. I would ask the Tux place you are planning on ordering before actually placing the order...

Men don't need as much time as we do, of course, lol.....I'd say 3 months....and yes they can send you their measurements, and just get fitted in the two weeks before the wedding. That should be enough time just in case any alterations need to be made.

Our GM got their tuxes altered days before the wedding. We got the tuxes on Tues, the wedding was Sat. They altered them right on the spot as the guys tried them on. FH got his altered the day before the wedding. I think most place work that way. They get the tuxes in a week, two at most before the wedding, otherwise they'd have to store everyone's tuxes on premise until they pick them up and most guys will wait til the very last second to get them anyway.

The place you go to will give you a deadline. Although I would say go as early as you can because in my experience guys are worse than girls about going to get things done (getting measured, paying, etc.). This way you give them a good chunk of time to save up the money and then go. And give the GMs a deadline before what the Tux place says this way you have some lee-way for the lazy people.

I was told that two months before the wedding is good. I guess it's just hard for me to wait till that close too but guy always have it easy :)

Our BM lives in New Jersey. The tuxedo place here told him to go to a tuxedo place in New Jersey to be measured. Then, call in the measurements.

I would definitely ask the place. The place where we got our tuxes said 2-3 weeks before is fine. The guys don't need as much time. Their final alterations were done like 3 days before the wedding. It was no big deal and the guys looked awesome the day of!!
