I have a dilema because my ceremony is at 1 but my reception is until 1 am. I get 13 hours before paying over time.
the photographers are scheduled to come at 10:30 am (I have to leave about 12 to make the church), then my 13 hours ends at 11:30.
So im not sure if i should have them come at 11am instead, but is that enough time? that would bring 13 hours until 12 and if i want i can pay the additional hour overtime so they are there until 1am.
But im thinking I should keep it at 1030, but im really not sure how much time they will need and what pics they will take besides getting ready shots
what do you think i should do?

Re: How much time before your ceremony...
mine was there when i came back from getting my hair done. honestly, i think an hour of getting ready shots is plenty. there's only so many they can take. this is assuming you will be ready and have the full hour to take pics; i still had to get my makeup done at my house (which he took pictures of also because what else was he going to do)

thanks... right now my hair/makeup is scheduled for 8 and 9 am at my house. then she said when he gets there she would do touchups just for the pictures. but like you said.. its all assuming we are on schedule. this is why im a bit worried about making it 11am

Re: How much time before your ceremony...
Mine came at 1:00pm and the ceremony was at 3:00pm--we left at like 2:50pm to get to the ceremony--so it was just under 2 hours worth of pics, but a lot of that was like details, then me getting dressed, than pics with me and all the girls and my parents....HTH!

Mine is coming an hour and a half before the ceremony - and they're not staying til the end. Most of the important photo opportunities are durign the first 2-3 hours of the reception anyway. The last hour is just a bunch of drunk jerks pulling their pants down on the dance floor and people saying goodbye.

Re: How much time before your ceremony...
our ceremony was at 1130, but we took our pics before the ceremony since we got married at the RH. we planned on being at the RH by 900 to take pics, so the photographer got to the hotel at 730. it was plenty of time. he got to take pics of the flowers when they were delivered, the dress before i put it on. i think 1.5 hrs is enough time to get all the 'getting ready' pics, plus pics w/ your family if you want.

Re: How much time before your ceremony...
do you have a break for photos between the ceremony and the reception? if so, then i think the pics before the ceremony is not too critical if all you need is getting ready shots at that time then have him come later. if you want any posed pictures at that time then have him come earlier. the last hour is not much going on like someone else said. just make sure the all the spotlight dances and the cake happens before he leaves.
anyone u know enjoy photography enough to be responsible for making sure they take lots of non-pro pics after the photographer leaves?
my photographer is coming to my mom's house at 3 - he wants us all ready - i do not know if we will take any fake getting ready shots though. i want my immediate family and all my side of the bridal party shots then but we do not have much time as the limo comes at 3:45 to leave.. and we have no time other than cocktail hour for other pics! our photo are leaving at 11:30 - a half hour before the reception ends.
