How much time do you really need to order BM dresses?

How much time do you really need to order BM dresses?

HEy Ladies...'08 crasher asking

Question, I'm getting married 08/30/08...when do you think is the right time to order BM dresses?? I was thinking Jan....so that way it is after all the holiday craziness!!!

The stores always tell you to order them right away, but i wanted to get our thoughts!

i orderd mine late February for an early Aug wedding.. we got them in May...

they were JH..

each designer has a different time frame but it tends to be 3 to 4 months.. then you have to factor in time for alterations..

Yup, all depends on the designer. and style. 4 of my girls ordered in April and got them in August, but another girl ordered hers in June and got it in September. Yet another ordered hers rush, in August and got it in September. Alfred Angelo, keep alot in stock and it guess it was a popular style.
I was also told that in January for Chinese New Year nothing gets produced. I don't know what designers that would affect...

We ordered my Bill Levkoff dresses for my September wedding in March, they came in July.

We ordered Jim Hjelm dresses in early september and they came in in early february. (about 5 months) You want them to come in at least a month before your wedding to allow time for alterations.

Yeah, typically 3-4 mos. for actual ordering time, but it will vary with each brand. Add alterations on top of that. For the record, I got Alfred Angelo BM dresses and they arrived in 3 mos.

We ordered Jordan dresses from RK Bridal's no frills program at the end of May for December and the dresses were in by July.
