how much time have your parents and your FH's parents spent together?

Since I'm still sitting here, and I only have a few more posts until I hit 900... why not ask one more question?

This one came up because my parents invited my FILs to our Passover Seder next week, and my dad expressed to me that he was a tad bit nervous about it, and that he couldn't be as goofy and ridiculous as he usually is.

(He's nervous mostly because we are Jewish but my fiance is Catholic, and there's always the potential for that to be problematic, but FH's parents are really very accepting and I don't foresee an issue there. It won't be their first Seder either, according to FH. I guess we'll see how awkward it gets...)

Our parents have spent some time together, they've met repeatedly (when we first started going out we were only 16, so we needed them to shuttle us around for our dates), and they had dinner together once last summer without the two of us there, to get to know each other. My dad is really big on family and it's really important to him to forge a good relationship with them. His parents and my mom's parents get along very well and talk all the time.

So, how about you?

My parents and FH's parents get along really well... like family...

they have known each other for years, because FH and I have been together more than 5 years...

I think they also have bonded over cultural/familial similarities

Not much at all. It's not that they don't get along or anything.... My mom works alot, and likes to hang at home. Hopefully when we're married, she'll come to more functions with his family. We don't see it as a big deal though.

They spend a lot of time together... my mom and his mom talk on the phone every day. We are all really close.

Us too, but they got out alone.. like they call eachother and makde dinner plans, even without us!!! I'm so happy they are getting along.

FH and I live 2 states apart, so my folks have met his mom once (his dad passed on when FH was 11).

my folks have had FH's mom over to our house a few times for bbq's and such over the summer.....BUT they have yet to meet his ghetto side of the family. LOL aka--FH's Dad & ghetto rat GF and their 6 kids.

my FH is deathly afraid of this---as dad & company are rather etiquette challenged--while my parents are not. i fear for this day as well-since i know how my FFIL can act. it will be a crazy day!!

our parents have met a number of times, they have come to functions graduation parties for fh and I, b-days for fh and i anniversary parties for each other.. stuff llike that.. they went and out down the depoist for leonards together. we have all gone out for dinner together we all went to register together.. stuff like that..

i don't think they would just call each other up to hang out alone together.

None But, it's only because my parents live abroad. My FH haven't met them either -- (but will in 8 days )

My mom and FH's Aunt (FMIL's sister) get along like they have known eachother for ages.. My Mom and FMIL don't really know eachother that well and I think that's fine for both of them..

They've never met!

My parents live on LI, FH's parents live in PA and we live in DC so it's a little difficult for all of us to get together. Add to the location problem, the fact that my parents are divorced and it's just a huge mess.

My mom and stepfather are meeting the FILs at an Oriole's/Phillies game this June. I have no idea when my father and stepmother are going to be able to meet them though. I have to say that I'm pretty nervous, our families couldn't be more different!

as other girls, FH and I have been dating for 6 1/2 years so they have been together at parties many many times. They get along great! Besides parties, FH's parents have invited my family over for dinner a few times and vice versa. They are planning on going out just the four of them for dinner (without FH and I), but they havent' done it yet.
