Our ceremony starts at 3:30, CH at 7:00. We're having a mass so by the time that, the receiving line and the pictures are over it'll be around 5:00, giving us a nice amount of time to go somewhere to take pics and get to the reception, which is 30 minutes away from the church.

My Ceremony starts at 10am and my CH starts at 12:30pm. I have a 40 minute commutte to the reception hall from the church. I am hoping my ceremony only last about 30 minutes tops, but we we will see what happens.

I am with you.... I am just hoping that there will be enough time... My ceremony starts at 10:30am and the CH is at 12:30pm.... there is about an half hour ride from church to hall so I figure I will have about half hour to 45 minutes for pictures....

My ceramony is at 4:00 and the reception starts at 7:30. I did this on purpose because it's on a Friday. I figured it would give people enough time to come home from work and get ready.

Zero! We are getting married atthe reception hall. Personally, Anything more than 3 hours between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of the reception is too much time in my opinion.

ditto and ditto!!!!!

ditto the dittos!!

I'm glad I asked everyone this - I think it's a NY thing to leave plenty of time between the ceremony and CH. When I had asked this question on another wedding website for the whole country, people seemed horrified if there was more than an hour b/tw the ceremony and CH! Anyway, I have two hours and I was getting nervous.

Thanks girls!

Our ceremony is at 2:30 and the cocktail hour isn't until 7:30!!! I know, it's a long time. Originally I was very concerned about this, but the more people I talked to and the more I thought about it, it isn't so bad. The guests can come to the ceremony and then go home and get ready. I know that when I go to a wedding I would much rather go to the church and then come home, relax, and then get dressed to go to the reception. Oh well, too late to change it now! If people think it's too late, they don't have to come

And also, then we can have all our pics done before the CH and everyone can be free to enjoy themselves!

I'm with you on this one!! My ceremony is at 3 and the CH start at 7. I want to be able to just take my pics and then enjoy the rest of the evening with my friends and family!! Nothing worse than having no time in between and walking in to the middle of your own reception. I've seen brides do that and then have no time to have any fun!!
