How Much Time Passes......?

Hi Ladies,

Can you tell me how much time passes until the best man makes his speech?

We want to rent a photobooth, but we don't want to open it up until after the speeches. If an hour passes by then I save myself a lot of $$. if only 1/2 hour passes then I have to pay the full amount.

Go the cheaper route

most weddings I've been to the BM does his speech right before or after dinner. so you figure at least an hour into your wedding..
and besides that.. its YOUR wedding.. if you want him to do it immediately, have him do it then.. if you want him to do it before dinner, go for it, if you want him to do it while your guests are leaving.. thats your call.... set it up whenever YOU want.

I was told by our DJ that the speeches start right after our 1st dance

Thats when mine was... well actually we had our 1st dance then there was a 2nd slow song where all the guests were invited up... Then we sat for a few minutes (maybe 5) and thats when the BM gave his speech.

actually thinking back to my brothers wedding (15 years ago) they didn't let their BM drink before his speech... (but he somehow got some alcohol).. and he gave (well tried to) his speech right after dinner, as they were clearing the plates.. and Bro/SIL were going to cut the cake right after..
long story short:
BM had a 2 page (front and back so I guess FOUR page) speech prepared.. his speech he wanted everyone sitting, then he would say, 'now please rise in honor of x&x and raise your glasses in a toast'...
but the MD asked that everyone stand for the toast.. so BM got MAD... then because he was so drunk, he was slurring his words that after 2 paragraphs he was 'clapped' off the 'stage'... well he took his frustration out on the table next to the cake, that had a bunch of extra champagne and the serving set on it.. yea he punched that, champagne glasses flew everywhere, all over the back of the cake and all over the head table (causing broken glass to end up in our (the BPs) shoes).. not cool

I think ours was probably right around the 1/2 hour mark. We were introduced, did our first dance, then had like 3 more songs (I think) and then the MOH/BM did their toasts.

But honestly the day is a blur to me so I could be completely off the mark.
