Instead of favors that people leave I wanted to donate $ to Cancer since my godmother just passed away from Cancer. I wanted to know how much you should donate. We have about 150 people coming to our wedding.

i'd like to know how much to donate pp also. FH would like to do personalized CD's, but i'd much rather donate and I think he's coming around to the idea!

I love that idea, i am also doing it & have no idea how much to donate, but i was going to base it on how much i had planned on spending on favors & rounding up.

We are donating too. We were going to donate $4-$6 per person (we based it on how much we thought we would have spent on a favor). Hope that helps!!!

I am also donating to the American Cancer Society and have no clue how much I want to donate. I am going to have around 125 people.

im not sure exactly how much But i was thinking $2-3 pp because we also want to have a little favor weather it be candy with a card attached explaining the donation or somethign esle....so we have to include that cost into the favors as well

it doesn't matter... we did what we could afford, which was about $2-3 per guest. how much you donated does not have to be disclosed to your guests.

You are supposed to donate what you were willing to pay for favors per person

Many of the organazations you donate to will send you something as a favor explaining that you made a donation. March of Dimes sends little teddy bears, Donate life sends green Rubber Bracelets or bunper stickers, so also keep that in mind & then just attach a card saying you donated, and your names & date.

we are doing both. we are donating 1000 total to 5 charities: ACS, ALS, COTA, MS and Alzheimer's.

I agree that it should be a number that you feel comfortable with. We donated about $4/person, but we also decided that we would pledge to each other to make a donation to a charity on our future anniversaries. If you can't do a lot now because of wedding expenses, plan to do more after you get your wedding gifts or over the next couple of years.

I'm glad someone asked this b/c I was wondering the same thing!!
I love the idea of donating too, and I got FH into the idea after I agreed to also do a chocolate Thank You favor to go along with it (that he picked out on a trip to AC Moore--he was so happy to pick something out!). I'd love to give back to some of the childhood/young adult cancer charities that have helped me in the past.
