I am not sure what is the appropriate amount to give as agift for my friends wedding. FH and i are both in the bridal party. Any thoughts/ideas?

I give $500 (for me and date) if I'm in the wedding party. Recently a friend of mine got married, and I know all of the girls gave $300 a couple, so I guess it's what you can afford.

I agree. Being in the bridal party, you have a lot of stuff to pay for so I wouldn't think you need to go overboard with the gift.

I usually give $500 for me and FH if I'm in the bridal party and it is someone close to me. If not as close, I give $350 - $400.

I think $400 is a perfect amount. That's what I usually give when I am in a wedding.

wow i feel differenly about the whole gift giving thing if you are in the wedding party. I feel that since bridesmaids and groomsmen spend at least $500 each to be in your wedding and during planning, that the gift should be minimal or nothing at all. I don't expect anything from my bridesmaids since they will be paying out to do everything that I want to do for the wedding. If you didn't pay much as a person in the party then I would increase the amount that you are giving as a gift but if you spent a lot, I don't think the bride is really thinking about a gift from you. JMO
Depends... I give anywhere from $300 - $500. You do spend a lot just being a part of the wedding itself... but I always like to cover my plate and my date's plus give a nice gift.
