going to an engagment party(at a restaurant), wanted opinions on how much to give.... these are good friends of ours..
keep in mind, fh is the only one that is working, and we are still saving for a house...

I would say between $50-100 is MORE than adequate for ours we got a check for 100 (from BM) but our guests gave us everything from fondue pot set - to our formal place setting - so I would say we had some who were MUCH more generous - but I would say you could get a VERY nice gift for 50 - 100! are they registered? could you get them something off that like a place setting or something else/

I would say IF you can swing it since you are not working $50-100 is a nice amount - but honestly I always say give what you can afford to
